Using Adobe Photoshop, I took a personal image taken in Italy of my family and combined it with other images that made the photo become more creative. Incorporating a picture of a butterfly, balloon, someone walking in heels, a sting ray in the ocean, and a new sky makes the image feel more creative and transform the original image into a dreamlike piece. Utilizing the layer mask tool and the brush tool, I was able to seamlessly build in each additional image to the background, making the original image feel altered but also intimate.      The process of combining these additional images into the original was mainly done by the use of the hard and soft brush tools. Using masking, it created each image into the others to make it feel like all of these different images were originally there. These made the images feel embedded with the scene rather than added.      This piece represents how memories can sometimes be shown differentl...

Abstract: The Art of Design

Image
One picture that stood out to me was the close up black and white portraits. This is because the subject is clearly staring into the camera. It showed the emotion throughout the subject and what they were feeling at that time. Having the portrait be in black and white made the image feel like the subject was the only thing to focus on. It took away the entire background and left only the subject to be in the portrait. There were no distractions in the portraits, just the subject itself.  Looking at these pictures from Abstract: The Art of Design | Platon,   made me feel emotion in myself. I felt vulnerable from looking at the pictures. It made me capture the emotion they were feeling into the emotion I felt. It made me understand how Platon gets as close to the soul as possible, and also connected me to the picture.  The picture I chose is a picture of me and my family in Italy. Surrounded by bright colors and a beautiful background of the ocean and buildings, ...

Sierra Dog

Image
The art piece I created is Sierra, a dog left alone in a hotel room as her owner went hiking, hiking in place of her owner because she felt left out. I photoshopped her face into the owners face to create her in the helmet as she is hiking. The masking tool, brush tool in colors white and black, quick selection tool, and changing the colors made this possible. Adding in my personal logo on the helmet also created a part that relates to me in my art piece. Changing the colors on the helmet and equipment is important for Sierra because she would not want to have green, red, and yellow equipment. I made the colors pink, purple, and a different shade of pick to show her girly side.

Photoshop Portrait

This project explores the different color theory can transform the mood of the picture chosen for the project. I applied three different color schemes - found from the adobe color website - to show three different color relationships throughout the project on the picture.  Each different color scheme represents different colors that correspond with each other in a different way. In each picture I used compound, split complementary, and triadic color schemes. The compound scheme draws attention to the subject and creates a stronger contrast. The split complementary scheme balances the contrast of colors. Lastly, the triadic scheme uses evenly spaced colors to create a vibrant composition that is also bold.  In photoshop, I used the brush tool, different layers for each color, the brush of my logo created in the tag brush assignment, and the eraser tool. All of these combined made it for the colors to flow well and the lines be clean. The logo was also put on the dress as ...

I process behind my art piece is to use different tools in photoshop to get the hang of the different material we will be doing. For example, using the brush tool was the main tool I used to create this art piece. Also, using the brackets helped practice making the brush bigger and smaller. Lastly, using layers and the masking tool to create the scratches and shading on around the logo to create a "spray paint" effect. Overall, this piece is meant to be colorful, lively, and practice working on the tools that will be used throughout the course.

Photoshop

https://youtu.be/IZACwQzj7TQ?si=78f_SPPyyKmPlvJK     This video taught me many important tools about photoshop. For example, using the laso tool is something I think will be used very often to erase things from a picture. The patch tool also seems like something that would be important to use which does a similar thing as the laso tool. Lastly, using layer mask will be important to combine pictures together into one. I think this will be used very often.  https://youtu.be/y_Nqb32auxs?si=knkso-erpFgHd3m7     This video did not have specific words, but showed visuals of how to use certain tools. For example, making copies of layers and then merging them together is a good tool to use incase you need to go back to another layer. This also allows for any mistakes made to the second layer to be able to start over. Learning how to wrap the layer also could be important depending on what projects could be coming during this portion of the course.

Poster

Image
The poster created represents that the idea of simplicity can be very powerful. The slogan of my poster is the center and theme of the design. I wanted to show the theme of the slogan through the different colors and simple shapes.  Using the pen and fill tool, I created the picture and background. The background was chosen to be a hot pink to draw the viewers attention and show confidence in the poster. The simplified facial features in the poster are meant to show simplicity in the art work. The dark hair is also meant to show confidence and draw more attention to the simplicity of the facial structure.  The initials "SB" on the dress represent a personal logo which enforces identity in the poster. The logo being in black creates an elegant, stunning, and simple look to the poster.  This poster shows how simple designs can still communicate strength, confidence, communication, and elegance. Using simple tools and structures paired with bright and bold colors, the poster...
